The region’s wildlife potential
The Çekerek district of Yozgat and its surroundings are among the important regions for hunting activities due to their rich natural structure and wide diversity of wildlife. The area is particularly notable for its wild boar population, while forested areas and the surroundings of the Çekerek Dam provide suitable habitats for this species.
Within the geographical area where our club operates, wild boars are frequently encountered; they are known to move especially near water sources and are occasionally observed around the dam area. In previous periods, there have also been notable observations of local fishermen working around the Çekerek Dam encountering wild boars while setting their nets, which highlights the intensity of wildlife presence in the region.
The region’s extensive forest cover and rural landscape support the continuity of the wild boar population, consisting of mature individuals and family groups with offspring. This situation is regarded both as a natural part of the ecosystem’s cycle and as a factor that increases the importance of regulated hunting activities.
Our club operates in accordance with sustainable hunting principles in the region and contributes to driven hunting organizations carried out for the purpose of maintaining wildlife balance and ensuring population control.
